Good morning, Councillors,

By way of an update, we have continued to make progress, and water supplies have been restored to many of the affected properties. The team continue to work around the clock to have this resolved as quickly as possible. Our water tankers will remain in the area over the coming days to pump water back into the network and keep customers on supply. We understand that this can be disruptive, so we are doing our best to minimise the impacts as much as possible.

The do not drink notice remains in place for the identified postcodes in the Rainow areas. These customers will continue to receive bottled water while we conclude our investigations and water quality tests, and we will proactively notify customers as soon as this changes. We are also posting regular updates on our website here: https://www.unitedutilities.com/emergencies/up-my-street/sk10-macclesfield/

As you are aware, two bottled water collection points have been set up in the area for customers to obtain further supplies if required at the Bollington Health & Leisure, Heath Rd, Bollington, Macclesfield SK10 5EX and Tesco Superstore, Hibel Rd, Macclesfield SK10 2AB.

A customer information drop-in centre is also available at Holy Trinity Church Car Park at Round Meadow Car Park, Round Meadow, Rainow, Macclesfield SK10 5UB, where our team will be available to speak with residents and answer any questions they may have. Today, we also have a water quality specialist available at the information drop-in centre all-day (8am – 9pm) to answer any specific questions.

In addition, please see attached some water quality FAQ’s which may help answer some customer queries. Please feel free to share these. Once again, we do apologise for the disruption to customers, and we are working hard to resolve this.

If you have any questions, please keep the UU team cc’d into this email copied in, so we can ensure we capture these.

Kind regards,

Shy
